Maya Carves was born from love for mountains, rocky landscapes and the raw beauty of nature.
All stoneware pieces are made entirely by hand. When looking close you will be able to observe and enjoy charming irregularities in each piece.
All of the ceramic functional and decorative wares are hand built, using different techniques like pinching, coil building slab building and kurinuki. Some of the pieces are made using the potter’s wheel and then textured and faceted by hand.
I create my ceramic pieces with an artistic vision, rooted in tradition and inspired by nature. Maya Carves promotes handcrafted ceramics that blend function with art, celebrating the beauty of everyday objects through small-batch, sustainably made designs. Focused on one-of-a-kind items with a transparent production process and sustainable practices to oppose mass-produced ceramics, creating exclusivity and a sense of connection with the maker.

I'm Maya, the artist behind Maya Carves.
Born by the Black sea and later enchanted by the mountains, I draw my inspiration from my love for the outdoors, my passion for rock climbing and my admiration for the beauty of the landscapes that surrounds us.
Join me for a hands-on ceramics workshop in the heart of Barcelona — an intimate session for just four people, where you'll learn to carve, shape, and finish a piece entirely your own. These aren't big group classes: in a small circle, there's room to actually learn the techniques, ask questions, and slow down with the clay. You'll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece you made yourself, and hopefully a new appreciation for the quiet, meditative pace of making something special using your hands and unique creative inspiration.
The workshop is held in a reduced group of 3 to 4 people and I’ll be there to help you and guide you through the process of making your special object.

Come and learn how to make a figurine sculpture of your dog, a friend’s dog or another animal you keep close to your heart.
The workshop will be held on Saturdays, from 11.00 until 13.00.
You’ll have time and space to make as many figurines you would like. I would be therw to guide you, help you and answer any questions. You’ll be able to choose a color of clay you like best and a finish to fit it best. You’ll be able to come and collect your pieces in about two weeks times after the workshop. Open to all levels, you can be a toal beginner or already know how to work with clay but want to learn something new and have some fun sculpting away.
Ven y aprende a crear una figurita de tu perro, del perro de un amigo o de cualquier otro animal al que quieras mucho.
El taller se impartirá los sábados, de 11:00 a 13:00.
Tendrás tiempo y espacio para crear tantas figuritas como quieras.
Estaré allí para guiarte, ayudarte y responder a tus preguntas. Podrás elegir el color de arcilla que más te guste y el acabado que mejor le quede. Podrás recoger tus piezas unas dos semanas después del taller. Abierto a todos los niveles: tanto si eres principiante como si ya sabes trabajar con arcilla pero quieres aprender algo nuevo y divertirte esculpiendo.
